Both men spoke about the Yarmouth Club's support for "Advocates for a Community College Education" (ACCE) an organization which supports students from the Cape Cod Community College and provides mentors for scholarship recipients from their organization. The College is a two-year institution offering 40 degree concentrations and 45+ certificate programs.
Each year ACCE provides $4800 scholarships to 15 students from high schools on Cape Cod who are enrolled at the college. Each student is assigned an adult mentor and students receive financial support for both years. Mentors help students navigate the challenges of the high school to college transition. They serve as a non-judgemental coach and advisor providing personalized guidance and encouragement.
ACCE is actively seeking new mentors to continue their program They also need financial support from area residents and businesses. There will be refreshments and a silent auction that evening.
