"Dream Day on Cape Cod" Program

On January 6, 2026, Heather St. Onge, Executive Director of the family camp "Dream Day on Cape Cod" met with members of our Nauset Rotary Club to review the operations of the 501 (C) 3 non-profit summer camp program on Rafe Pond in Brewster. The program provides a week's stay at the camp for eight families each week during the summer for families with a child or children with a serious and life-threatening illness. Children range in age from 2 to 22. Each family is provided a cabin to live in for the week, meals at the dining hall, and a week of camp-related events and activities on the pond completely free of charge. Each family cabin has canoes or kayaks available.
Eighty percent of the families are from Cape Cod and the camp is staffed by 12-22 volunteers each summer. A full-time nurse or paramedic lives on site for the eight-week camping season. The annual operating budget for this non-profit is approximately $350,000 and sponsorships are welcome. More information is available at https://dreamdayoncapecod.org
